Digital Scrapbooking Now

Join the Digital Scrapbook Revolution

I am just venturing into the digital scrapbook world and heard that photoshop elements 6 will be a good way to start. Basically, I just want to create some neat pages and include a couple 4×6 photos. Nothing fancy, not looking to really "fix" the photo, just create scrapbook pages. Any ideas??

I have a collection of about 16k digital images and have been using Photoshop Elements 3.0 since around 2000. For the last month I've been trying to upgrade to 6.0, it's been a disaster. Data corruption and incompatibilities with capacities from the prior release.

I had to contact Adobe support 4 times before I found someone who could help.

Here's a comparison of photo editing products.

picasa is a good start and photo editing tool if you don't want to "fix" pictures and do what you say and is free.

    Picasa.

I was also going to suggest Picasa from http://picasa.google.com/.

If you want to share the photos online, you can upload them to http://www.flickr.com too.

Sure, Elements 6 would be a good choice. After you get it, spend some time with the help files and tutorials that come with the program.

    Then go for it.

You'll need to learn the basics:
    1. Optimizing your images
    2. Creating images with multiple layers
    3. Copying images to your master page, then being able to scale, rotate and move them around
    4. Adding text

I have a tutorial on Optimizing that might also help. Here's the address of my homepage: http://www.jimsdigitaldiary.com

You'll find several pages there that should help, especially Photoshop Tips

    Have fun with it!
